Please read this Privacy Policy in reference to the Veterinarian Connect website and services. By using this website or any of Veterinarian Connect services, you consent to the use by Veterinarian Connect, its affiliates, third-party licensees, marketing partners and vendors of any information or content you provide to or are otherwise obtained by Veterinarian Connect in the manner described in this Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect

Veterinarian Connect collects information that you voluntarily provide to us. When you join the Veterinarian Connect network, we ask for the following identifying information: First Name, Last Name, Address, Telephone Number, Email Address, and additional personal information you choose to provide. See also, the sections below regarding our use of cookies and other information gathering tools which may be used to append data to your profile. We also may collect information as a result of your interaction with Veterinarian Connect or one of our licensees or marketing partners or that we obtain through third party sources. 

Data Storage and Transfer of Data

Your information may be transferred to – and maintained on – computers located outside of your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where the privacy laws may not be as protective as those in your jurisdiction. Your consent to this Privacy Policy followed by your submission of such information represents your agreement to that transfer. Both identifying and non-identifying information that is submitted to Veterinarian Connect will be collected, processed, stored, disclosed, and disposed of within the United States and in accordance with applicable U.S. law and this policy. If you are a non-U.S. user, you acknowledge and agree that Veterinarian Connect may collect and use your information and disclose it to other entities outside your resident jurisdiction. In addition, such information may be stored on servers located outside your resident jurisdiction. U.S. law may not provide the degree of protection for information that is available in other countries.

Opt-Out Process

An invitation to opt-out is provided to enable members of the Veterinarian Connect network to opt out at any time from receiving third party email communications from the Veterinarian Connect network partner(s) selected or from all Veterinarian Connect network partners. 

How Does Veterinarian Connect Use the Information It Collects?

The goal of Veterinarian Connect is to provide you with information related to areas of interest that you have selected or that we, and/or our licensees or marketing partners reasonably believe you would be interested in based on the information you have provided to us. Veterinarian Connect may rent, license or sell the information it collects, including, personal information such as: email address, postal address, telephone number, fax number, IP Address, in aggregate or individually identifiable form to third parties for marketing purposes, as well as other uses described below.

Companies and People Who Work for Us:

Like other companies, Veterinarian Connect contracts with service providers—other companies and individuals who help us provide our services. For example, we may host some of our professional websites on another company’s computers, hire technical consultants to maintain any web-based health tools, or work with companies to remove repetitive information from customer lists, analyze data or provide marketing assistance (including assisting us in targeting our advertisements as described herein), customer service or fulfillment services.

In addition, we may validate your status and other information against available databases. In order to perform their jobs, these other companies may have limited access to some of the personal information we maintain about users. We require all such companies to comply with the terms of this Privacy Policy, and not to use the information they may access for purposes other than fulfilling their responsibilities to us. 

Promotional Offers:

Sometimes Veterinarian Connect sends offers to selected users or clients of affiliated companies on behalf of other businesses. When we do so, we do not give such businesses your name and address. If you do not wish to receive such third party offers, you may contact Veterinarian Connect at the email or postal address below to opt out of these promotional offers from selected businesses or from all such offers.

Assignments:

Veterinarian Connect reserves the right to transfer or assign a business unit (such as a subsidiary) or an asset (such as a website or database) in whole or in part to another company. 

Legal Requirements:

Veterinarian Connect does not release any personal information to an external third party for License, Rental or Sale unless we reasonably believe that such third party will comply with applicable law and proper privacy practices.  

We may disclose personal information when we believe such disclosure: (1) is required to comply with valid legal requirements such as a law, regulation, search warrant, subpoena or court order; or (2) is reasonable in response to a physical threat to you or others, to protect property or defend or assert legal rights. In the event that we are legally compelled to disclose your personal information to a third party, we will attempt to notify you unless doing so would violate the law or court order.

In addition, and without limiting our foregoing obligations, Veterinarian Connect may be required under law to report breaches by Veterinarian Connect or its affiliates, partners, vendors or clients, to the applicable privacy or data protection authorities. Such authorities are empowered to bring civil and criminal action, including imposing financial penalties, against any party misusing or failing to adequately protect or secure personal information.

Consent:

By providing your personal information through a Veterinarian Connect website or by using Veterinarian Connect services, you consent to Veterinarian Connect providing your information to third parties for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. For example, when you choose to participate in a Veterinarian Connect “Industry Program,” we will provide certain personal information to the sponsor of such program.

Does Veterinarian Connect Use “Cookies” and other technologies?

When Veterinarian Connect sends a third party an informational email message on behalf of one of its clients/licensees/partners, we may insert a “cookie” for tracking purposes. The “cookie” will only be used to determine which recipient has opened or clicked on an informational email message.

Your California Privacy Rights

California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits users of a Veterinarian Connect website or services who are California residents to request certain information regarding the disclosure of personal information to third parties for such third parties’ direct marketing purposes. Veterinarian Connect websites and services are operated in and from the United States. Do Not Track Protocols

The major browsers have attempted to implement the draft “Do Not Track” (“DNT”) standard of the World Wide Web Consortium (“W3C”) in their latest releases. As this standard has not been finalized, Veterinarian Connect websites are not compatible with DNT and so we do not recognize DNT settings.
